Although it’s not celebrated everywhere, Columbus Day always makes me think of the
courage it must have taken to attempt a sail around the world.  While Columbus
came up a little short of India, he did find new riches beyond his wildest dreams
for his efforts.  While it might be a stretch to try and link Columbus to GemFind,
we do want to acknowledge that many store owners look at making changes to their
website similar to taking a giant leap of faith.  If you choose the right technology
partner, this kind of courage will be greatly rewarded; and if you learn the path
to successful digital marketing you will be well on your way to achieving new riches.
Just to clarify.. it’s never been about making e-commerce sales for the independent
jeweler, its about driving traffic from the information highway into your store.

Give us a call at 800-373-4373 for a no obligation evaluation
of your web presence and to learn more about turn-key technology solutions.

Myths Vs Realities: From the Trillion
Carats ‘Find’ to De Beers Changes

October 4, 2012

A local TV gossip program has a section called
“So True/Totally Not.” In it, they confirm or refute gossip stories about celebrities.
I was reminded of the segment because we keep getting questions about the report
of a mega-diamond resource supposedly found in Russia’s frozen Siberia region.

Last week, Alrosa, the world’s second largest diamond miner, plucked out a stone
weighing 158.2 carats from its Nyurbinsk mine in Russia’s north-eastern republic
of Sakha (Yakutia). That is a quite remarkable size; at auction that is worth about
$1.5m, and by the time it has been cut and polished it will be worth a great deal

We read with interest the recent statement by De Beers of structural corporate changes.
Present divisions will disappear, more notably DTC and Diamdel, and operations will
be consolidated under the De Beers name.  The release emphasizes that operations
continue as before; that the Sightholder designation and its marketing franchise
continues; and that operationally everything is the same. >>>
